Accused Involved In Canadian Model’s Harassment Arrested


The accused, Hamza Sohail and Anas Kamran, have been identified by the Canadian woman as well.
Islamabad (WebPaki/ Pakistan News – 18th April, 2019) The accused in the Canadian model’s harassment incident have been arrested.

Media reports said that the capital police have taken the car of the accused in their custody besides arresting them.

The accused, Hamza Sohail and Anas Kamran, have been identified by the Canadian woman as well.

A case was registered against the harassment of the Canadian model, Asoomii Jay alias Assma Galuta, in Sahala Police Station, Islamabad.

The two accused had harassed Assma Galuta, known for her humanitarian work, in a private housing society in Sahala Police Station jurisdiction.

According to the case registered against the harassers, the accused attempted to intercept the woman’s taxi on the road and tried to get her in their car.

Upon resistance from the woman, the accused kept following her car and asked for her address from the driver.

The woman then took refuge in a shopping mall escaping the accused.

The woman had claimed that the police had not arrived to help her despite her call.

When Assma called on the police helpline 15 to seek help, she was asked to approach the nearby police station to register a complaint against the accused.

She had then filed a complaint on the PM’s Citizen Portal.

Assma Galuta had married a Pakistani man in 2018 and was currently visiting the country to raise awareness about social injustices including Islamophobia when she was harassed.
