Cold,dry Weather To Continue In Most Parts Of Country 09 Jan 2019


The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast that mainly cold and dry weather was expected to continue in most parts of the country, with foggy conditions at a few places in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during next 24 hours
ISLAMABAD, (WebPaki/ Pakistan News – 9th Jan, 2019 ) :The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast that mainly cold and dry weather was expected to continue in most parts of the country, with foggy conditions at a few places in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during next 24 hours.
Rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) was likely at scattered places in Quetta, Zhob, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir while light rain was expected at few places along the Sindh-Makran coast including Karachi during the same period.

According to synoptic situations a fresh westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of the country on Thursday (evening/night) and likely to grip different parts on Friday.

Meanwhile, weather remained very cold and dry in most parts of the country during last 24 hours. However, light rain with snowfall over the hills occurred at one or two places in Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall recorded in millimeter (mm) during last 24 hours was Bagrote 03 and Hunza 02 in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kalam 01 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similarly, snowfall recorded ( in inch) was: Bagrote 01 in GB and Kalam 01 in Khyber PakhtunkhwaThe lowest minimum temperatures recorded on Wednesday were: Skardu and Kalam -10’C, Gupis -08’C, Astore -07’C, Hunza and Malamjabba -05’C, Dir and Kalat -04’C, Drosh, Murree and Rawalakot -03’C, Mirkhani, Gilgit, Abbotabad, Parachinar and Quetta -02’C, Islamabad 01C, Peshawar 05C and Lahore 06C…
