HYDERABAD, (WebPaki / Pakistan News – 27th Jan, 2019 ) :The DIG Police Training Sindh Shaukat Abbas has said better training was essential to end the prevailing culture of the police stations and to improve police image among the public.
He expressed these views while speaking here Saturday at Shaheed Abdul Aziz Police Training Center at the passing out parade of the 12th batch of the center.

The DIG informed that the training courses were being redesigned in view of the prevailing circumstances as well as the requirements of the modern day policing.

Abbas acknowledged that more work was required to develop the center where several of the necessary facilities also lacked. “The construction of the building can’t be completed and there is a shortage of the manpower as well,” he added.

He said he would request the Sindh Government and the elected representatives to provide funds for development of the center so that the trainees could be provided a much better environment and facilities.

The Center’s Principal Abrar Muhammad Awan informed that the trainees were provided the physical, legal and ethical education.

He apprised that the development work of the center began in 1980 but so far in around 4 decades only 3 out of the 9 blocks could be constructed. The existing blocks provide accommodation to a maximum of 400 recruits against the designed capacity of housing up to 2,000 recruits, he added.

Earlier, as many as 231 personnel of Sindh Reserve Police, Anti Corruption Establishment and Special Branch, including 6 women, who received the training, participated in the parade.

The best performing trainees were given awards by the officials.
