Former DG ISPR Asim Bajwa Resigns From SAPM Post With PM’s Approval


Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa has resigned from the position of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, for which he was appointed on April 28, 2020.



He once announced his intention to resign earlier on 3rd September 2020, during an interview with ARY News Channel. However, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected his resignation back then.

Today (Monday), the former Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), tweeted that he requested the prime minister to relinquish him from the portfolio of SAPM, which was approved by the premier.


Lt. General Asim Bajwa is a retired Pakistani three-star general who is serving as the Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority since November 2019.
