Here Are the Records Pakistan Cricket Team Hold in T20I History

With two back-to-back series whitewash against Australia and New Zealand, Pakistan has dismantled most of the teams they have faced in T20Is in 2018.

The Greens are enjoying a terrific run in 2018 with 17 wins coming from 19 T20Is in the calendar year.

Pakistan has toppled a number of records. Here’s a complete team records and individual records list:

Pakistan has won each of their 10 T20Is in UAE since 2016. They had won the same number of matches in 25 T20Is from 2009 to 2015.


Pakistan has won 17 out their 19 T20Is in 2018. No team has managed more wins in a calendar year since the start of this format of the game in 2005. In T20s, Mumbai Indians (2013) & Cape Cobras (2014) also managed 17 wins in a year, but with far more losses.


Pakistan has won each of their 11 series after the 2016 World T20. No team has managed more series wins in the timeline. India a close second with nine series (9W, 2L, 1D) victories.


Pakistan fielders have managed more run-outs (22) in past 2 years in T20Is than any team. Sri Lanka sits in 2nd place with 15 run-outs.


Pakistan has won ten consecutive T20Is in UAE. The last time they failed to win a game in this format, was the tied game against England, three years ago in Nov 2015.


Pakistan has now won 27 of their last 30 T20 matches – this is the equal second best 30-match streak in the history of T20 cricket behind Sialkot Stallions (W 27, L 3) & tied with Lahore Lions (W 26, L4). It is the best 30-match streak in T20 international history.


In 2018, Pakistan has won 17 out of their 19 T20I matches – this is the best win percentage of any team.


Only the 3rd time in his T20I captaincy career that Sarfraz Ahmed has opened the bowling with a right-arm bowler – Aamer Yamin v NZ (2017), Shoaib Malik v ZIM (2018) & Mohammad Hafeez (last match vs. New Zealand).


Pakistan has the most number of wins against New Zealand in T20I cricket – 13.


Pakistan has bowled out the opposition 31 times in T20I history, most by any team. Australia sits in the second position with 19.


Pakistan also leads when it comes to bowling the opposition for less than 100 runs. Pakistan has done that 9 times.


7th straight win for Pakistan in T20Is. This is 3rd time they have won seven in a row. Onlyother team to do it on three occasions is India.

Individual Records

Babar Azam is now the fastest player to score 1000 runs in T20Is surpassing India’s Virat Kohli, becoming the 6th Pakistani and 50th player overall to reach the landmark.


Babar Azam has the best average in T20Is for Pakistan. Previously, the record was held by Misbah-ul-Haq with 37.52.


Imad Wasim is one of only six spinners in T20I history to have an economy rate of under six runs per over in the first six overs.


Asif Ali is a serious talent, especially when facing seam bowling. Since he made his debut in April, only Aaron Finch (10.78) can better his run rate of 10.32 against quicks (min. 100 balls faced).


Mohammad Hafeez now leads the most 50+ scores for Pakistan. He has 10 scores of 50 or more in T20Is. In the second position, Babar Azam is tied with Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal with 8 scores of 50 or more.


Mohammad Hafeez has also become the 3rd Pakistani to hit 50 sixes in T20Is.


Mohammad Hafeez has now hit at least 1 six in his last 6 T20 International innings. For Pakistan, only Imran Nazir has hit a six in more consecutive innings, 8.


Mohammad Hafeez has now taken 54 wickets for Pakistan, which is the 3rd best in Pakistan’s T20I history. He is tied with Sohail Tanvir in 3rd position but has a better average.


Shaheen Shah Afridi’s spell against New Zealand in 2nd T20I of 3 for 20 is the best bowling figures by an under-19 fast bowler.


Shadab Khan now leads the most wickets in T20I for 2018. He has a total of 28 wickets now.


Shoaib Malik has taken the most number of catches in T20Is for Pakistan with 47 catches.


Sarfraz Ahmed has now led Pakistan to 29 victories in T20Is as a captain in 33 matches. He has the best win-rate of any Pakistan captain with 5 or more matches captained.
