One killed, several injured in Strasbourg shooting at Christmas market

STRASBOURG – At least one person was killed and six injured in a firing incident near a Christmas market in Strasbourg, France, international media reported.

The shooting took place at Place Kléber near the Christmas market, which is visited by millions of tourists every year.

The interior ministry termed the incident as a “serious security event” and directed the people to avoid visiting the market.


Security officials have cordoned off the area and trams have been stopped, according to reports.
