Pak Railways Makes Record Sales Worth Rs. 60 Million in a Day

The change in leadership of Pakistan has turned the fortunes of several state departments within months.

Pakistan Railways is among those departments which have been setting new records every other day.

Railways minister Shaikh Rasheed was the second best-performing minister in the first 100 days of the government.
Pak Railways made a record Rs. 1.5 billion additional income ever since the PTI government swung into power.

The department has now set up another record by generating revenue of Rs. 60.5 million in a single day through the selling of passenger tickets.

As per media reports, Railways sold a record number of tickets – around 51,610 – on Saturday, December 1.
A Pak Railways spokesperson told media that out of Rs. 60.5 million, more than Rs. 20 million were generated through e-ticketing.

This is the second record-sell day in a week. On Tuesday, November 27, Pak Railways had sold tickets worth Rs. 50.62 million.
