Simmba is unstoppable. After reigning supreme at the box office since its release, the film did slow down on Friday owing to new releases like Uri The Surgical Strike and The Accidental Prime Minister. But Saturday numbers again shot up proving that it is still the first choice of movie-goers. From Rs 2.60 crore on Friday to Rs 4.51 crore on Saturday, Simmba has seen an amazing boost in the collection in its third weekend as well. In total, it has earned Rs 219.54 crore. Soon it will become Rohit Shetty’s biggest hit by beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express.

Simmba has already earned more than Rs 350 crore in worldwide gross total. It seems the film doesn’t want to slow down at all. Now there is a reason for that. After a very long period of time, an out and out masala film like Simmba has released at the theatres. The film has the right mix of everything a potboiler needs to create magic at the box office. Although Simmba got the patronage of both the multiplex and single screens, it is the latter which has a huge role to play in its collections. India still has more number of single-screen theatres than multiplexes. Hence, the film is viewed a repeatedly.
